China’s annual output of new energy vehicles exceeds 3 million units

The cumulative sales penetration rate of new energy vehicles has increased to 12.7% from January to November.
Specifically, in November, the production and sales of new energy vehicles completed 457,000 and 450,000 respectively, an increase of 1.3 times and 1.2 times respectively year-on-year.
Among them, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles were 372,000 and 361,000 respectively, an increase of 1.2 times and 1.1 times respectively;
the production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles were 85,000 and 89,000, respectively, an increase of 1.6 times and 1.7 times respectively; The production and sales of fuel cell vehicles were 212 and 147 respectively, a year-on-year decrease of 26.4% and 49.3% respectively.
From the perspective of sub-models, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles have also set new records.
17.8% penetration rate
The penetration rate of the new energy vehicle market was 17.8% in November, which continued to be higher than the previous month. The penetration rate of the new energy passenger vehicle market reached 19.5%.
From January to November, the production and sales of new energy vehicles were 3.023 million and 2.99 million, respectively, an increase of 1.7 times year-on-year; the market penetration rate reached 12.7%, higher than the previous October.
Among them, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles were 2.504 million and 2.466 million, an increase of 1.8 times and 1.7 times respectively;
The production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles were 517 thousand and 522,000, respectively, an increase of 1.3 times and 1.4 times respectively.
The production and sales of fuel cell vehicles were both completed at 10,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 23% and 16% respectively.
In addition, in November, auto companies exported 200,000 vehicles, down 13.6% month-on-month and up 59.1% year-on-year.
In terms of vehicle types, passenger vehicle exports were 170,000 units this month, down 14.1% month-on-month and up 71.2% year-on-year; commercial vehicle exports were 30,000 units, down 10.5% month-on-month and up 13.0% year-on-year.
32.9% contribution
The contribution of new energy vehicle exports to growth in November was 32.9%.
On the same day, according to the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance released monthly power battery data for November 2021. In November 2021, power battery output totaled 28.2GWh, an increase of 121.8% year-on-year and 12.4% month-on-month.
Among them, ternary battery output was 10.4GWh, accounting for 36.8% of total output, an increase of 42.6% year-on-year, and an increase of 12.9% month-on-month;
The output of lithium iron phosphate battery was 17.8GWh, accounting for 63.0% of total output, an increase of 229.2% year-on-year, and an increase of 12.0% month-on-month.
From January to November, the total output of power batteries was 188.1GWh, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 175.5%.
Among them, the cumulative output of ternary batteries was 82.4GWh, accounting for 43.8% of total output, a cumulative increase of 106.1% year-on-year; the cumulative output of lithium iron phosphate batteries was 105.3GWh, accounting for 56.0% of total output, a cumulative increase of 275.7% year-on-year.
In terms of vehicle loading volume, in November 2021, the power battery loading volume was 20.8GWh, a year-on-year increase of 96.2% and a month-on-month increase of 35.1%.
Among them, a total of 9.2GWh of ternary batteries were installed, a year-on-year increase of 57.7%, and a month-on-month increase of 32.5%; a total of 11.6GWh of lithium iron phosphate batteries were installed, a year-on-year increase of 145.3%, and a month-on-month increase of 37.2%.
From January to November, the total installed capacity of power batteries was 128.3GWh, a cumulative increase of 153.1% year-on-year.
Among them, the cumulative installed volume of ternary batteries was 63.3GWh, accounting for 49.3% of the total installed vehicles, a cumulative increase of 92.5% year-on-year;
The cumulative installed capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries was 64.8GWh, accounting for 50.5% of the total installed vehicles, a cumulative increase of 270.3% year-on-year.
Power battery companies
In terms of concentration of enterprises, in November 2021, a total of 43 power battery companies in the new energy vehicle market will realize the installation of vehicles, a decrease of 3 compared with the same period last year.
The top 3, top 5, and top 10 power battery companies have installed vehicles of 16.0GWh, 17.6GWh, and 19.4GWh, accounting for 76.8%, 84.6%, and 93.4% of the total installed vehicles, respectively.
The top 10 power battery companies with installed vehicles in November are: CATL, BYD, etc.
From January to November, a total of 55 power battery companies in the new energy vehicle market realized the installation of vehicles, a decrease of 13 compared with the same period last year.
The top 3, top 5, and top 10 power battery companies have installed power batteries of 94.8. GWh, 106.7GWh and 118.1GWh accounted for 73.9%, 83.2% and 92.0% of the total vehicle load respectively.
From January to November, the top 10 domestic power battery companies with installed vehicles are: CATL, BYD, etc.
Charging facilities
There will be an increase of 30,000 public charging piles in November 2021 compared to October 2021, and a year-on-year increase of 57.1% in November.
As of November 2021, members of the alliance have reported a total of 1.092 million public charging piles, including 450,000 DC charging piles, 646,000 AC charging piles, and 406 AC/DC integrated charging piles.
From December 2020 to November 2021, about 33,000 public charging piles were newly added every month.
The operation status of public charging infrastructure operators. As of November 2021, there are 13 charging piles operated by charging companies nationwide with more than 10,000 units.
As of November 2021, the operation status of the charging facilities built by car companies has collected 381,000 data on the reasons why charging facilities have not been built with the car.
Among them, group users built piles by themselves, the residential area did not have a fixed parking space, and the residential property did not cooperate with the three factors that were the main reasons for not installing charging facilities with the car, accounting for 48.6%, 10.3%, and 9.9% respectively, totaling 68.8 %.
There is no fixed parking space at the work site, difficult to apply for installation, users choose to charge at a dedicated station, and other reasons account for 31.2%.
