- In other market segments such as the power tool field, Japanese and South Korean companies have shifted their focus to the power market and strategically withdrew from the power tool market, resulting in rapid growth of domestic companies’ cylindrical shipments.
In the power cylindrical battery market, the top ten companies in the first three quarters of 2021 total about 6.6GWh. Among them, LG accounts for up to 77% of the installed capacity by supporting Tesla Model 3 and Model Y cylindrical 21700 batteries.
From the perspective of 2020, the installed capacity of cylindrical power batteries is about 8.35GWh, an increase of 102% year-on-year, and the top ten companies together account for about 99.7%.
