EV maker, wind power, solar power, EV power batteries, lithium battery energy storage and carbon neutrality, the industry based on lithium battery power and energy storage is developing rapidly
General Motors
General Motors plans to invest more than $3 billion to produce electric vehicles in Michigan.
One of the projects will transform its Orion assembly plant in the suburbs of Detroit as its electric pickup production center. The transformation will cost at least US$2 billion and is expected to create more than 1,500 jobs for the plant.
GM also plans to build a battery factory near an assembly plant in Lansing, Michigan. The project will be carried out by a joint venture in which General Motors and its battery partner LG New Energy each hold half of the shares.
Volkswagen
Volkswagen announced on December 13 that it plans to build six gigafactories in Europe to meet the group’s growing demand for battery packs.
The factory in Salzgitter, Germany is currently scheduled to start production in 2025, and Volkswagen will invest about 2 billion euros in the factory from 2025 for mass production of its own battery packs.
The statement also stated that Volkswagen plans to build more Gigafactories in Spain and Eastern Europe. The exact location of the remaining two Gigafactories will be determined in the first half of 2022. Volkswagen plans to open two more battery pack factories in Europe by 2030.
China wind power
The largest offshore wind power cluster in China is about to be connected to the grid!
The total installed capacity of the national “Shengguang” ranks first in the world.
According to news on December 12, the largest domestic offshore wind power cluster will be fully integrated into the domestic large-scale power grid by the end of this year.
It can transmit about 17.3 billion kWh of clean electricity each year, which is close to nearly half of Yancheng’s entire society’s electricity consumption. As of the end of November, Yancheng’s new energy installed capacity accounted for about 67%, ranking first in East China.
As of the end of October, the country’s installed wind power capacity was 300 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 30.4%, and solar power installed capacity was 280 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 23.7%, ranking the top two in terms of growth.
The total installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaics ranked first in the world.
